Learn about the benefits of utilizing Groups to save time when managing user subscriptions and permissions

Updated over a week ago

Vable’s Group functionality can be used to streamline the management of Alert subscriptions. Additionally, for organizations with a subscription to the MyVable self service platform, it can be used to manage visibility permissions for groups of users.

Here are just a few of the benefits of the Groups functionality:

  • Utilizing Groups enables you to create sets of users for subscribing to Alerts and accessing items in MyVable, with the management of the user lists happening in a single location.

  • Each user in a Group receives an email of Alert specific to their email address. This allows for individual tracking and reporting.

  • An individual user can unsubscribe themselves from an Alert without affecting the rest of the Group's subscription.

  • Similarly, an individual user can unsubscribe themselves from an Alert without affecting their connection to the Group.

  • Granting a Group permission to view items in MyVable ensures automatic updates to the permitted user list, eliminating the need to manually update individual item permissions for each user change within the Group.

  • Automatic Groups are managed through your organization’s Active Directory sync, meaning any changes made there reflect in Vable, eliminating the need for manual management by Administrators.

These benefits combine to make Vable’s Group functionality an effective method of managing Alert subscriptions and MyVable permissions for groups of users.
